Lead Host Redbird

Sprout II LLC

Lead Host

Full Time • Redbird
Lead Host – Redbird
Redbird is looking for an experienced, organized, and hospitality-driven Lead Host to join our front-of-house team.

This is more than a traditional host position. The Lead Host is an important part of our daily restaurant and event operations, working closely with the management and events teams to manage reservations, guest flow, menus, and the arrival experience throughout the Redbird and Vibiana property.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the host desk and create a warm, professional first and last impression for every guest
  • Greet Redbird restaurant guests as well as guests arriving for private events at Redbird and Vibiana
  • Understand the entire property and direct event guests to the appropriate event location, including Vibiana, the Garden, Courtyard, East Room, West Room, Nest, Cardinal’s Quarters and other event spaces
  • Be knowledgeable about the day’s restaurant service, private events, and property activity so guests are always directed correctly
  • Expert knowledge of OpenTable, including reservations, table management, guest notes, pacing and floor plans
  • Working knowledge of Tripleseat and the ability to understand private dining and event bookings that affect restaurant operations
  • Work closely with managers on daily menus, changes, pricing, special events and private dining needs
  • Use Canva and Adobe Illustrator to update and format daily menus and other restaurant materials
  • Coordinate printing and make sure all menus are accurate, current and ready before service
  • Communicate VIPs, special occasions, large parties, dietary notes and other important guest information to management and service teams
  • Help train and support other hosts and maintain organization and standards at the front desk
  • Assist managers with administrative and guest-relations projects as needed
Hours of Operation & Availability
Redbird is open for dinner six nights a week and weekend brunch, with private events taking place throughout the week at both Redbird and Vibiana.

Because we operate a busy restaurant and events property, weekend, evening and holiday availability is important. Event schedules vary, and there are days when multiple events are taking place on the property at the same time.

Who We’re Looking For
Someone organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology and genuinely good with people. Restaurant hosting experience is required, and experience in a busy, quality-driven restaurant is strongly preferred.

You should be confident using OpenTable and comfortable working in Canva and Adobe Illustrator. Tripleseat experience is a plus, but a solid working knowledge is sufficient.

We’re looking for someone who can think beyond the host stand—someone who understands that the job is part hospitality, part organization and part communication. There is room for the right person to grow within Redbird and take on additional responsibilities.

Compensation: Minimum wage + tips

Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for health care benefits. Daily family meal is provided.

Redbird is located in Downtown Los Angeles in the historic Vibiana property. We are a busy restaurant and events operation, so this is a great position for someone who enjoys hospitality but also likes the organizational and creative side of restaurant operations.

Please apply with a résumé and a brief note about your restaurant and hosting experience.
Compensation: $23.00 per hour

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

You are being given the opportunity to provide the following information in order to help us comply with federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action record keeping, reporting, and other legal requirements.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
